1111Museums and exhibitions in August (also by the moonlight)
For the month of August residents and visitors can enjoy free admission to the exhibition "Around Pop Art" at the Candiani cultural centre in Mestre. It is one of the initiatives of the Civic Museum Foundation in Venice for the summer. In August all civic museums will be open, except for those closed for weekly rest. But the Ca 'Pesaro's international art gallery, normally closed on Monday, will also be open on Monday, August 14, with the exhibition "David Hockney, 82 portraits and a still life". Thanks to a convention between the MuVe Foundation and Palazzo Grassi-Punta della Dogana, holders of an entry ticket to Damien Hirst's "Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelieavable" at Palazzo Grassi will be able to access Ca' Pesaro's exhibition at a reduced price, and vice-versa. It is on-going the initiative "Museums by the moonlight": a night-time itinerary between the environments and masterpieces of Palazzo Ducale, which will be open on Fridays and Saturdays with prolonged hours until 23am (last entry at 22pm). In addition to the Pop Art Art Exhibition at the Candiani's, in Mestre the installation of sculptures "Family Group" in Forte Marghera will also be open, free of charge.
