1111Saturda 25 and Sunday 26nd March the FAI (Italian National Trust) opens the secret doors of Venice
For 25 years, volunteers of the FAI have been celebrating the arrival of spring by opening to the public extraordinary places in of Italian art, culture and heritage. A sort of democratic initiative dedicated to cultural heritage, a unique opportunity to discover places usually closed to the public, open with free contribution visits thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm of the Delegations and the FAI volunteers. In Venice you can visit the church of Sant'Andrea della Zirada in Fondamenta dei Testori, S. Croce, (Saturday and Sunday 10-16); the Morosini Gattemburg Palace, residence of the 108th Doge of Venice, the admiral Francesco Morosini, and now owned by Generali, in Campo Santo Stefano (Saturday and Sunday 10-13 and 14-17). The Morosini Gatterburg Palace was for centuries the home of the noble Venetian family Morosini from Sbarra, whose most illustrious son was the mastermind of the building structure; the Scuola Grande della Misericordia (Saturday and Sunday 10-13 and 14-16) with organized visits of students from the educational institutions Barbarigo, Gritti and Guggenheim; the Negozio Olivetti Carlo Scarpa in Piazza San Marco, this open all year (10:30 to 17:30).
