1111Virtuosisms and great soloists at "LidoMusicAgosto" at the ancient St. Nicolò Cloister (Lido)
For the 10th consecutive year, the ancient cloister of San Nicolò will be animated by the LidoMusicAgosto concert show, oranized by the Guido Alberto Fano Music Archive and the Omizzolo Peruzzi Musical Foundation of Padua.
From 16 to 23 August there will be four open-air appointments. Next Wednesday the first, with the duo of violinist Giovanni Angeleri, winner of the Paganini Prize in 1997, and pianist Cecilia Franchini. The "Italian Violin" programme includes a selection of virtuoso pieces of 19th century composers such as Paganini, Rossini and Bazzini; a twentieth-century sonata by the composer Silvio Omizzolo and a song by Kazakhstan Yevgeny Brusilowsky.
Thursday, August 17th, a tribute to Italian music, with the trumpet of Mauro Maur (for many years collaborator and friend of Federico Fellini, Giulietta Masina and Ennio Morricone), who, together with his wife Francoise de Closey, will perform the themes from the soundtracks of Piero Piccioni, Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone in films such as "For a Fistful of Dollars", "Mission", "Amarcord", "La dolce vita", "Eight and a Half" and "The Road".
On Sunday 20, Venetian pianist Letizia Michielon will give a taste of her record label projects of Beethoven's and Chopin's piano works by performing a programme titled "The sky is beautiful". The show will close on Wednesday 23 with the performance of the tenor duo Marcello Nardis and Andrea Bacchetti, world-famous pianist.
